Gate of St. Francis of Assisi Prague 1991 - 1993 338x258 cm

Work on the gate commenced in late summer 1991, completed in October 1993. The gate opens into the Franciscan Garden, close to Wenceslas Square in the centre of Prague. It depicts the life of St. Francis. It is a two - leaf gate, forged of iron. Its dimensions are 338 x 258 cm, weight 709 kg, consists of 211 parts, not counting bolts. The decorations consist of 24 figural reliefs and 26 heads - masks. The corners of the frame are decorated with palms of hands: with no stigma on the left, stigmatised on the right.
